Bowling was team's leading scorer

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The leading scorer on West Virginia Tech's women's soccer team died in a car accident, state police said.

Freshman Carrie Bowling, 18, was a passenger in the car driven by teammate Dafney Riggleman that went off a road and crashed into a fence Sunday night. Police are investigating.
