Convey transferred to English club

WASHINGTON -- On a day when Major League Soccer added a new young talent in Danny Szetela, it lost another.

D.C. United and the MLS announced Thursday that midfielder Bobby Convey has agreed to terms with Reading Football Club of the English First Division after being granted a work permit from the British Home Office.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but United will receive a replacement player allocation from the MLS upon completion of the move.
