Relaunch a goal in next two years

NEW YORK -- The Women's United Soccer Association could return in a year or two using a more modest business plan devised to cut costs, former league commissioner Tony DiCicco said Tuesday.

DiCicco and several other soccer officials met Monday and Tuesday in New York with consultants as well as prospective sponsors and owners to draft a plan that could relaunch the league. The WUSA folded last September on the eve of the Women's World Cup after losing $100 million in three years.
