English club to face Mexican teams

HOUSTON -- English Premier League club Everton will make its first trip across the Atlantic to take on two Mexican club teams this summer in the Copa de Tejas, an event created by the Houston Texans football team to help develop Reliant Stadium as a soccer venue.

Everton, a 126-year-old club based in Liverpool, will play Pachuca on July 29 and Club America on Aug. 1. A points system will determine the cup's winner after the second game.
