Piatra gets two-year ban for ref assault

BUCHAREST, May 27 (Reuters) - Romania's Professional Soccer League (LPF) has banned a first division club president for two years and fined him for assaulting a referee and a visiting team's coach earlier this month.

'The (LPF) Disciplinary Commission banned Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt president Gheorghe Stefan for two years from any official activity with his team,' an LPF spokesman told reporters.
