Darlington's financial future secured

Darlington's long-term future appears to have been secured after an 11th-hour deal to save the club was agreed.

George Reynolds and financiers, the Sterling Consortium, have reached an agreement which will ensure the former chairman votes in favour of the only rescue package on the table.

The agreement will end months of uncertainty about the fate of the 121-year-old club, which went into administration in December.
