Friedel sidelined by groin injury

An injury may cause Blackburn Rovers and U.S. international goalkeeper Brad Friedel to miss the rest of the Premiership campaign, and put his ability to start World Cup qualification in doubt.

According to Blackburn's website, Friedel hurt a groin muscle with literally his last kick in last weekend's 1-0 victory over Manchester United. The win secured Blackburn's place in the Premiership for next season, so the need for Friedel's presence in the last two games for the team was a bit lessened.
