Nebraska's Cooper shot at house party

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A Nebraska women's soccer standout was fatally shot at a party early Sunday morning, police said.

Jenna Cooper, 21, of Louisville, Ky., underwent surgery after being shot in the throat, but died Sunday evening, Lincoln police Capt. David Beggs said.

Police said the shooting occurred when two men got into an argument at a southeast Lincoln house. A bullet struck Cooper after hitting one of the men, Nolan Jenkins, 22, in the head.
