Sochaux end trophy drought

PARIS, April 17 (Reuters) - Sochaux beat Nantes 5-4 on penalties after captain Benoit Pedretti scored the winner to secure their first French League Cup success after the final had finished 1-1 at the end of extra time on Saturday.

Sochaux, last year's runners-up, had not won a title since they were crowned league champions in the 1937/38 season and will play in the UEFA Cup next season.
