Choi joins relegated Kyoto

TOKYO, Dec 24 (Reuters) - South Korea striker Choi Yong-soo will join relegated Kyoto Purple Sanga on a one-year loan in February, officials of the J-League club said on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old, who played at the 1998 and 2002 World Cup finals, has scored 54 goals in 73 league appearances since joining Japanese rivals JEF United Ichihara in 2001.

Choi netted 17 goals during the 2003 season to help Ichihara finish third in the first division on total points over the two stages. ...
