School issues self-imposed penalty

ATLANTA -- Morehouse disbanded its men's soccer program as a self-imposed penalty for violations that landed the school on five years of probation, the NCAA said Wednesday.

The NCAA said its Division II Committee on Infractions found that athletic officials at Morehouse knew in spring 2000 that professional players were on the soccer team but failed to investigate. That led to two pros being on the team during the 2000-01 academic year.
