Cologne name Koller as new boss

BERLIN, Nov 2 (Reuters) - Bundesliga side Cologne have signed former Switzerland midfielder Marcel Koller as their new coach, replacing Friedhelm Funkel who was sacked on Thursday.

Koller, who stood down as coach of Zurich side Grasshoppers a month ago, signed a contract running until June 2006 on Saturday evening, Cologne said in a statement on Sunday.

The 42-year-old, who won 55 international caps, was due to oversee his first training session at Cologne on Sunday morning.
