Ralph nets Cup-clinching strike

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Damani Ralph scored midway through the second half to lead Chicago to a 1-0 win over the MetroStars to win the U.S. Open Cup championship Wednesday night.

Ralph, wide open in the center of the field, booted a 15-foot shot past MetroStars goalkeeper Jonny Walker in the 68th minute. Evan Whitfield set up the goal with an alert feed from the right corner.
