McIlroy quits N.Ireland for Stockport

Sammy McIlroy has been confirmed as the new manager of second division Stockport Country after quitting as Northern Ireland's national team boss.

The Irish Football Association accepted the 49-year-old former Manchester United star's resignation just days after the end of a miserable and goalless Euro 2004 qualification campaign.
