Romania extend Iordanescu reign

BUCHAREST, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Romania coach Anghel Iordanescu was handed a two-year contract extension on Thursday even though his team has all but failed to qualify for next year's European championship finals.

'A previous gentlemen's agreement between the Romanian Soccer Federation (FRF) and Iordanescu has become official today,' a spokesman for the FRF said. 'The previous contract was extended by two years.'
