Romania accuse UEFA of bias

BUCHAREST, Sept 22 (Reuters) - UEFA was accused on Monday of appointing referees biased against Romania and other teams from eastern Europe. Mircea Sandu, the president of the Romanian Football Association, made the allegation at a news conference but it was rigorously denied by UEFA's Director of Communications Mike Lee who dismissed the idea as 'totally ridiculous.'
