Charles guided Pilots to NCAA title

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Clive Charles, who led the University of Portland women's soccer team to the 2002 national championship while battling prostate cancer, died Tuesday. He was 51.

He was surrounded by family as he died in his Portland home, assistant coach Bill Irwin said.
