Striker Davies to join Bolton

Bolton will sign striker Kevin Davies, providing he passes a medical.

The former Southampton and Blackburn forward has impressed manager Sam Allardyce while on trial at the Reebok Stadium.

And after losing on-loan forwards Salva Ballesta and Pierre-Yves Andre over the summer, Allardyce will bring in Davies, who once cost £7.25 million, on a free transfer.
