Allardyce wants to sign Davies

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce is hopeful of signing trialist Kevin Davies on a permanent basis.

The former Blackburn and Southampton striker is with Wanderers on the tour of Northern Ireland and featured in Wednesday night's 7-1 thrashing of Ballymena.

Allardyce wants to reach an agreement with Davies after the club's next friendly match against Portadown.
