Gunners move closer to Canizares deal

Arsenal have stepped up their bid to sign Valencia goalkeeper Santiago Canizares as David Seaman's successor between the sticks at Highbury.

The Spanish international, who famously missed last year's World Cup after dropping a bottle of aftershave on his foot, is remaining guarded over his future until Valencia's season comes to a close next weekend.
