SAN DIEGO -- Shannon MacMillan, a star on the U.S. women's national soccer team, underwent reconstructive surgery on her right knee on Tuesday.

MacMillan left the outpatient surgery center on crutches and was resting at home. She will begin rehabilitation right away.
