Maccabi Haifa lift Toto Cup

TEL AVIV, May 20 (Reuters) - Maccabi Haifa won the first trophy of the Israeli soccer season on Tuesday with a 2-0 victory over Hapoel Tel Aviv 2-0 in the Toto Cup final.

Haifa scored first-half goals from Rafi Cohen in the 11th minute and a 20-metre volley from Yossi Nagar in the 45th to secure the victory.

Despite being played in front of only 7,000 spectators at the National Stadium in Tel Aviv, the Toto Cup is the richest prize in Israeli sport.
