Australia offers to host Women's World Cup if SARS poses problems

SYDNEY, Australia -- Australia would be prepared to host this year's women's World Cup finals at short notice if the tournament was moved from China because of the flu-like SARS epidemic, Australian soccer officials said Monday.

Soccer Australia's acting chief executive Stefan Kamasz said Australia would consider staging the event if an alternate host was needed.
