Blatter says no to 36-team World Cup

BERLIN -- FIFA president Sepp Blatter said on Wednesday he was against increasing the size of the 2006 World Cup finals from 32 to 36 teams.

"My personal wish is that we stick to the decision (of having 32 teams) we made at our (executive committee) meeting in December 2002 in Madrid," the head of soccer's governing body told reporters in Berlin.
