Manchester United missed the chance to close the gap on Manchester United at the top of the Premiership table as they went down 1-0 at Blackburn Rovers.

Sir Alex Ferguson's men dominated the first half for large periods, but it was Rovers who took the lead five minutes before the interval.

Damien Duff's free-kick by the right corner of the penalty box was headed back by Martin Taylor and Garry Flitcroft drove the ball into the gap between Fabien Barthez and the post.
