Chicago Fire sack Frank Klopas

The Chicago Fire on Wednesday sacked its coach Frank Klopas as well as its president of soccer operations Javier Leon, the club reported on its website.

Leon and Klopas had been with the Fire since 2008. Klopas was named coach in 2011. Under their leadership in 2013, the Fire finished just out of the playoff race with a 14-13-7 record but losing to the Montreal Impact on MLS' second tiebreaker (goals scored).
