Suarez plays on as Reds hold firm

The brinkmanship over Luis Suarez continues with Arsenal upping their offer, Liverpool emphatically saying no, then playing the Uruguayan striker in their Australian friendly on Wednesday night.

The two English Premier League clubs appear no closer to resolution on a possible transfer, with Arsenal making an offer of STG40 million ($A66.6 million) - plus a pound - on Wednesday, which was immediately refused by the Anfield club.
