Queiroz triggers Iran contract extension

Carlos Queiroz has had his contract with Iran extended through to the 2014 World Cup after successfully guiding the nation to next summer's finals.

The West Asians secured a fourth appearance at the tournament following their 1-0 defeat of South Korea on Tuesday.

And the result means Queiroz, who was appointed Iran boss in 2011, has triggered an extension in his contract, allowing him to lead his side in Brazil.
