Osieck apologises for post-match comment

Socceroos coach Holger Osieck has apologised for an off-the-record sexist comment after Australia's 4-0 World Cup qualifying win over Jordan.

Speaking before the post-match media conference at Etihad Stadium, the German joked that a male Football Federation Australia official was pushing him around like a woman by telling him where to sit.

He then made a comment in Latin, which he said translated as "women should shut up in public".
