Malaysian FA to investigate match-fixing

Police have been urged to protect footballers from bookmakers as the Malaysian Football Association (FAM) prepare to investigate claims of match-fixing in the country's league in a meeting on Thursday.

Local daily newspaper The Star reported that a match in the second tier of the Malaysian Premier League between Kuala Lumpur and Sime Darby was under suspicion. Banners with the message "Bookie detected" were seen at the game which finished 5-0 to Sime Darby.
