Lewis injures left ankle during 7-on-7 drills

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Mo Lewis sprained his left ankle during practice Wednesday, and coach Herman Edwards said the outside linebacker is listed as day to day.

Lewis, injured during 7-on-7 drills, has been with the Jets since 1991 and never has missed a start when healthy, a total of 176 games. He missed seven games in 1996 with a torn pectoral muscle, the only time he has not suited up for the team.
