Gretzky may manage Canada in 2004 World Cup

TORONTO -- Wayne Gretzky, executive director of Canada's Olympic gold-medal winning hockey team, has agreed to run the team again if NHL players compete in 2006 in Turin, Italy.

Gretzky, who also said he would handle Canada's entry for the 2004 World Cup if his Phoenix Coyotes commitments allow it, confirmed he has had preliminary discussions with Canadian Hockey Association head Bob Nicholson about the Olympic job.
