A-Rod has hit two homers vs. Orioles

BALTIMORE -- Alex Rodriguez homered in his first two at-bats Thursday night, becoming the first player to reach 50 home runs this season.

The Texas Rangers shortstop hit a two-run drive in the first inning off Baltimore's Jason Johnson, and added a solo shot off Johnson in the third.

Rodriguez, who hit 52 last year, is the fifth player in major league history to record successive 50-homer seasons. He joins Babe Ruth, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and Ken Griffey Jr.
