McLaren standing by trade request

The agent for restricted free-agent defenseman Kyle McLaren said his client will not report to Boston Bruins training camp when it opens on Sept. 12.

Neal Abbott told the Boston Herald that McLaren's hold out has nothing to do with money. McLaren, the team's best all-around defenseman, requested a trade in July.

"He's not signed and he won't be,'' Abbot said. "We're not trying to sign him (with the Bruins) and he has no intention of signing."
