Brazilian star has high hopes for club

MILAN -- Brazilian World Cup-winning striker Rivaldo has revealed that Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi was personally involved in luring him to AC Milan.

"I spoke with him several times during the talks," Rivaldo said at a press conference in Milan on Wednesday.

"I want to thank him for his confidence in me."

Rivaldo, 30, signed a three-year deal with Milan last month after his contract with Spanish club Barcelona expired.
