Sunday's Brickyard 400 could become one of the most significant races in NASCAR history.

For it's at the fabled Indianapolis Motor Speedway that NASCAR fans and teams will be introduced to the next generation in safety protection, the start of an era that will hopefully prevent the kind of tragedies we've seen in recent years, such as the deaths of Dale Earnhardt, Kenny Irwin, Adam Petty and Tony Roper.
