Midfielder could be loaned out for first season

BARCELONA -- Barcelona has completed a deal to sign Argentine midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme on a contract covering five or six seasons.

The Catalan club will pay Boca Juniors six million euros ($5.94 million) for 50 percent of the player's contract, with another five million euros ($4.95 million) due over the next two seasons to buy him outright.
