Cacau has signed a one-year contract extension at Stuttgart, despite not being expected to play again this season.

The striker has had a nightmare campaign after tearing his cruciate knee ligaments in October, before requiring surgery recently that has kept him out for a further few months.

However, the Bundesliga club have still decided to extend his stay with them until 2014, and Cacau is now desperate to return for the start of next season stronger than ever.
