McGeady out of Republic squad

Republic of Ireland winger Aiden McGeady is out of Giovanni Trapattoni's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria.

McGeady has failed to recover from the knee injury that has sidelined him for Spartak Moscow. He was named in the provisional 29-man squad but has not made the revised 23-strong party.

As well as McGeady, Norwich winger Anthony Pilkington (hamstring) and Hull defender Paul McShane (knee) are out, the Football Association of Ireland said.
