Hearts appoint Locke on permanent basis

Hearts have confirmed the appointment of Gary Locke as the club's manager until the end of next season.

Locke, who had been operating as caretaker manager since the departure of John McGlynn last month, was confirmed in the role just 24 hours before the Scottish League Cup final against St Mirren.

He had taken four points from three games as caretaker, ending a run of four straight defeats, having previously worked as the club's first-team coach.
