Akihito to attend final

LONDON -- Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko will watch the World Cup final and attend the closing ceremony at the International Stadium in the port city of Yokohama south of Tokyo on June 30.

Japanese government sources said on Saturday the emperor would be joined by foreign dignitaries, including President Kim Dae-jung of South Korea who are co-hosting the World Cup.
