Romario's goal helps Vasco da Gama tie Santos

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Veteran striker Romario kept up his goal-a-game average at the weekend to fuel the controversy over whether he should be picked for Brazil's World Cup squad.

The 36-year-old, who had a quiet game and missed some good chances earlier in the match, struck with a typically opportunist effort in the second minute of injury time to salvage a 1-1 draw for Vasco da Gama against Santos in the Rio-Sao Paulo tournament.

It was his 11th goal from 11 games in the competition.
