De Rosario suspended for head-butt

D.C. United captain Dwayne De Rosario has been suspended for two league games by Major League Soccer for violent conduct in a pre-season game.

De Rosario was sent off for a head-butt on Philadelphia Union midfielder Danny Cruz in the 60th minute of a game on February 23 and has also been fined an undisclosed amount for his conduct.

The MLS Players Union appealed the decision on behalf of De Rosario but the suspension was upheld.
