Holden comes on as sub for Bolton

BOLTON, England -- American midfielder Stuart Holden played his first league game in nearly two years on Tuesday after coming on as a first-half substitute for Bolton in a 1-0 win over Peterborough in England's second division.

Holden replaced the injured Mark Davies in the 24th minute, helping Bolton hold on for the win after Craig Dawson scored in the fourth minute. It was Holden's first league action since injuring his right knee against Manchester United on March 19, 2011.
