Earthquakes re-sign Chris Wondolowski

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The San Jose Earthquakes have re-signed forward Chris Wondolowski, who scored 27 goals last season, tying the Major League Soccer record set by Tampa Bay's Roy Lassiter in 1996.

The deal announced by the club Tuesday makes Wondolowski, a Bay Area native and the reigning MLS MVP, the second San Jose player to take a designated player spot.
