Seattle Slew resting after weekend neck surgery

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Seattle Slew, the 1977 Triple Crown winner, returned to Three Chimneys Farm on Wednesday and was resting after weekend neck surgery.

The 28-year-old thoroughbred is the only living Triple Crown winner and is the oldest living Kentucky Derby winner.

He had surgery Saturday at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington to fuse a joint between two vertebrae, veterinarian Jim Morehead said.
