Frank Farina is determined to make the most of his "football lifeline" from Sydney FC and says lessons learned from mistakes will help him handle the hottest seat in the A-League.

Farina was on Thursday appointed the Sky Blues' head coach for another two seasons, rewarded for an admirable job after joining the club in an interim capacity this season.
