Mallorca sack coach Caparros

Real Mallorca coach Joaquin Caparros has been sacked by the club after his side slipped just one point off bottom place in La Liga following Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Real Sociedad.

Caparros had his contract extended last year after leading Mallorca to an eighth-place finish in the 2011/12 season, but the Islanders have been unable to replicate that finish with just four wins so far this term.
