Sturridge ruled out of England friendly

Striker Daniel Sturridge is out of England's friendly against Brazil on Wednesday after suffering a thigh injury during Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Sturridge, 23, was substituted near the end of a game in which he had played superbly and scored his first goal, and his manager Brendan Rodgers has said it was unlikely that he would be able to face the Brazilians.
