Owen escapes retrospective punishment

The Football Association will not take any further action against Michael Owen following his clash with Mikel Arteta on Saturday.

Owen appeared to thump Arteta on the back after a late tackle from the Arsenal man during Stoke's 1-0 defeat to the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

The Potters striker was not booked by referee Chris Foy but it was widely believed he would face a retrospective ban from the FA.
